Monolith Co., Ltd. is a high-tech venture IP company with its head office in Tokyo, Japan. Monolith Co., Ltd. was founded in May 1990 by Kozo and Nobuo Akiyoshi with the mission to fill the large gap that exists between theoretical research efforts in the academic fields, practical needs of IT business and the goals of governments and nations to shift to new and better IT paradigms.

In the very vertically-oriented society of Japan, Monolith has been unique in its ability to bring together experts from business, government, and academia in an innovative cooperative framework. Monolith takes groundbreaking theories and develops them to practical proof-of-concept systems, while protecting its core and derived technologies with wide range of strategic patents. During the course of bringing the core theory to the market level, Monolith regularly receives secondary funding for projects through the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Science and Technology Agency (STA) and other high profile government research agencies.

Monolith intends to remain focused on the further development of its existing IP and technologies as well as research & development of new breakthrough theories and innovations in order to maintain its positive relationship with academia, industry, and government.
